GFCI Breakers
A GFCI breaker is installed in your main service panel and provides comprehensive safety by protecting the entire circuit. This includes all the wiring in the walls and every outlet or light fixture connected to that circuit. Because it monitors the electricity from the source, it is highly effective for protecting new dedicated lines, such as those used for EV Charger Installation.
GFCI Outlets
A GFCI outlet protects only the specific receptacle itself and any other outlets connected “downstream” from it. These are often the more practical choice for existing homes where you only need to add protection to a specific area, like a kitchen backsplash or bathroom sink.
