Electrical Outlet Installation

More outlets, in the right places, wired safely.

You’re in good hands. Our team will follow up promptly.

Not having enough outlets, or having them in the wrong place, is one of the more common everyday electrical frustrations. Extension cords and power strips are a workaround, not a fix, and in some cases (space heaters, larger appliances) they’re a real safety concern rather than just an inconvenience.

Common Reasons to Add or Relocate an Outlet

  • A room simply doesn’t have enough outlets for how it’s actually used.
  • Furniture placement or a remodel means an existing outlet is now in an inconvenient spot.
  • A specific appliance (a window AC unit, a workshop tool, a home office setup) needs a dedicated outlet.
  • Adding a 240V outlet for equipment that needs it.

Standard vs. Dedicated Circuit Outlets

Some equipment, larger appliances, workshop tools, certain HVAC components, needs its own dedicated circuit rather than sharing a general-purpose outlet with everything else in the room. We’ll tell you when a new outlet needs its own circuit versus when it can safely tie into an existing one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to add a new outlet?

Outlet installation or relocation starts from $100 per our current pricing guide, with the final cost depending on wall access and whether a dedicated circuit is needed.

Often, yes, depending on attic, crawlspace, or basement access to run wire behind the wall. We assess the specific location before determining the approach.

Depends on what’s plugging into it. Larger appliances and certain equipment need their own circuit; general-use outlets often don’t. We determine this before installing.

Those locations require GFCI protection by code. See GFCI Outlet Installation for that specific outlet type.
